Between Humanity is a story driven AVN which takes you on a journey into a potential future that borders on dystopia. Set just five years ahead, you, as the protagonist, were just an ordinary student until one day you wake up in a hospital room.
All memories of why you ended up there are blurred in the depths of your mind. But as soon as you try to go back to your daily life, you realize that something is fundamentally different. You are invited to live in your best friend's house, where you will also be sharing the space with her mother and sister, each of whom has their own set of problems and daily struggles. What could possibly go wrong with that?
With every decision you make, you not only change your own life but also that of your friends and loved ones. It's in your hands which game you want to play.

- Choices: It's your playthrough! You can decide how you want to interact with the characters. Are you in a bad, good or just a neutral mood? Choose you answers based on whatever you like.

Hi! I would say they look quite different, but just my opinion :D. I didn't know Cosy's game when I started making my own and haven't played it yet, apparently both Lucy's are on the shy side, so that would match too? Does his MC look good? Also, fun fact, Simon looks almost exactly like the MC from Companion of Darkness...

Currently all characters with h or cute scenes / images will be displayed in the gallery. So in the later stages, probably everyone will be in the gallery, both main and side girls. Whereas I don't have a specific list on who's main and who's not at the moment. Lucy, Anya and Jane are definitely 'main' though. Hope that could answer you question!
How to use Chinese translation?
Hi! There is a readme.txt file inside the Chinese translation folder. You need to follow the steps, it's written in Chinese as well as English!
With that drunk mom scene, in the choices when she in the bed, why is the top one grayed out and not accsessible?
Hey! You probably choose the wrong choices (which is only one in this case, you chose that she looked ugly). In 0.3, it'll be easier to see why certain choices aren't available when you hover over them.

I have a quick question about the walkthrough (no real spoilers). You say the below three dialogue choices come in order, but I've never gotten the second choice.
• “I shouldn’t over do it…” OR “Amazing!”
• “Yes!” OR “No”.
• “Hug her” OR “Wave back”.
After I pick “Amazing!”, the very next choice is whether to “Hug her” OR “Wave back”. Did I miss something? Thanks, Pan!
During the scene with Amber I think there's supposed to be a choice to be rough with her or not.
For some reason you're automatically rough with her unless you select "I shouldn't overdo it" and then "Actually, no" THEN you get the choice to be rough or not.

TheGeeb81 is correct, you're automatically being rough with Amber if certain criteria are met. Either you have taken enough lustful choices up to that point or you've taken the dominant choices with two other girls previously. :)

Ok, first of all, wow. I wasn't really expecting much, but my goodness how amazing it has been so far. The story has really swept me away and I can hardly wait for it to continue.
It's not just the story that has me hooked, the characters are also varied and interesting. But especially the little things, like the fact that the selected mobile phone wallpaper is displayed on the small icon.
You can see that a lot of heart and soul has gone into it. The animations are also very well done.
Only once did a background fail to load and I saw an error message from RenPy.
If you like Ripples and Eternum, you can't go wrong with this AVN. I really hope that it continues soon.

Of course. It's after dinner (which Jane has cooked) when you're lying on your bed thinking. First you see the skylight as normal, then the error appears for two or three text boxes, and then it appears again before you fall asleep.

Yes, pretty good, thank you! When the errors appear for two or three textboxes, then it could be my easter egg error, a normal error would make the game crash, or did you press ignore to make the game progress? It's right when MC starts talking about his knowledge about programming.
Also, does the error say: "No exception has occurred. Just continue to play. Nice, isn't it?"? If not, could you send me the error here on itch or over on discord? Thank you <3

When future chapters come out would there be any way to transfer save data? (For Android)
When you update the games version, your save files should be still available. If you're changing your phone, you need to transfer the files from "android/data/com.dbpanda.betweenhumanity/files/saves" to your new device :)

I will admit, initially I didn't expect much out of it as it seemed like a standard "MC was in an accident and has to rediscover his life" scenario that we've seen many times before. So I was happy when it became clear that it was not, and the story really picked up once it gets to the first school day. I'm now quite intrigued by the story - complete with personal theories and predictions - and the characters, and it seems like it's only going to keep getting better.

3 out of 5 is still what I consider a good game. It's mainly a slow beginning that brings it down tbh, but it's far from the only AVN to suffer from that, and the fact that it's only v0.2 naturally means that many characters and storylines haven't gotten enough focus yet to bring the score up.
Most AVNs wouldn't have gotten higher than 3/5 until v0.4 or v0.5.
Fair point! When I compare that with my own crunchyroll rating preferences... I usually don't watch anything below 4.2/5 stars xD. Also, if all new games get at most 3/5 I think a lot of newer devs might loose motivation to continue developing. So I might have to make smaller updates to pump my version number up, heh. Anyway, just my two cents, thanks for clarifying, though!
Ah, I get that. It's kinda why I prefer rating things out ot 10 rather than 5. A 7/10 sounds better than a 3/5.
That's true. For my personal rule of thumb, everything above a 5/10 rating on imdb is usually something considerable to watch (Exceptions prove the rule) :D
Just started playing this game and I love the fact that Amber from The Headmaster is in this game. (I know these type of games share the same character models but it was still a cool easter egg nonetheless)

Not gonna lie I downloaded it for a quick nut but this game went up to my favorites along with Eternum, Once in a lifetime and a bit of Ripples. THE QUALITY IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE. Holy hell I stayed up until 6 in the Morning cause I got invested in the story. It ended and I felt sad I need more. Daaaamn this is a good game. As of chapter 1+2 I give it a solid Must play / 10. Take your sweet time with the game because that quality is worth the wait. The only minor thing I found is that when the game starts it mentions "persons" instead of people. Everything else was perfect

Persons as in multiple amount of humans doesn't exist in the English dictionary. Plural for person is people and the only other way person can be used is when talking about an item someone has on them / on their person. I'm not a native speaker either so I could be wrong about some things as well. Thank you for the great game, your time to check and reply every comment and your hard work °^°

I checked with my native testers and proofreader, and persons seems to be actually correct. I checked on some video game disclaimers and they're also saying 'persons' so I trust them with this. :D Thanks for pointing it out though!

Just finished (chapter 2) and i was hoping for more right away, this reminds me so much of Once And A Lifetime and Eternum it will take a long time to finish the whole story but please take all the time in the world because i believe it will be worth it (like Mia said) honestly a 11/10 keep up the wonderful work:)

I only took a quick look today and I saw a bunch of stuff I liked about other games, from what I saw the art, animation and world are good and probably interessting.
Normally I take my time but often these games with even 0.1 have barely anything and I was quite stressed today for some reason so I only had a quick look.

I don't even know what to say in this review, the game was perfect. I absolutely love it and have nothing to complain about. At first, I didn't like the MC looks but his sharp facial structure quickly grew up on me to be honest, everyone looks amazing, and I just want Chapter 3 ASAP.

Note to myself: I really need to add some play time counter to get feedback on how long people played :)
as a fellow game dev I would highly suggest adding a lot of that sort of stuff so you know what players are more drawn to and will want to see more of. even if the player cant see what your tracking its great to be able to do so as a dev
That's true but I won't start tracking which choices the players choose. That might be too much. The playtime on the other hand though, that's quite useful. I can do polls and ask for the popularity of girls or which important decisions was taken at point x if necessary. How would you do it on the other hand? :)
This game was so good, i went through it twice and did it one playthrough because of how well the animations were and models. I really enjoyed it and I cant wait to see what comes of it in the future. I usually wait a little longer in development life because of how long quality games take to render and animate and even make a good story. Anyways like I said I cant wait for more and really like the 2 chapters I got. I wish there was more, but i completely understand why there isnt. Its just me being selfish.... good luck with everything and ill definitely come back for more!!!

Hey! Common ways would probably be Patreon or SubscribeStar. I think the latter has less fees but both still deduct like 30%, also Substar requires you to have a credit card. Nice i loved it. The animations are really nice, so are the models. The story is a bit basic at the surface but still enoyable. I will let the story unfold overtime before making to much judgement about it.
Oh and about the "good parts" of the game. You are definitely a man of culture (dunno if you are trully a man or not but you still are a man of culture)

I try to keep the differences between lesbian and non-lesbian content small, so I don't have to invest huge amounts of time in content people might not even see (since you need to turn off something in the settings contrary to in-game choices), so I'd say a little amount :)

Jokes on me and absolutely called out by the bot lol. Out of curiosity I manually converted the max int seconds to minutes, hours, days and finally years. Was gonna comment how we were so close to a hidden joke. Then am beaten to the punch because I didn't click a few more times.
Also, am I just being a big derp and missing the button? I can't seem to find the character menu. Looking on the phone just has Texts, Calls, Calendar and Jokes. Pressing Escape just has the usual options and the Gallery.Completely deleting and reinstalling the game seems to have fixed it.
So many character references this update, I think the only one I didn't recognize was the white haired twin tails in the mall.

Your in-game phone definitely looks off, what operation system are you playing on and did you just download the game or did you load an older save? Haven't had much complains about it, but I recall that this happened before...
Some characters are just backgrounds chars with no reference unfortunately. I need to have some variety.
Latest Windows 10, downloaded a night or two ago, started a new save cause I remembered that I missed a few clickables when I first played (actually *still* missed a few this time around, too!).
Deleted and downloaded again just now and it seems to have fixed it. I haven't a clue why or how that happened

Did you activate the clickable hints? I'm not sure if they're activated by default in 0.2.1 or if I have set that to be the default after 0.2.1 was already released. But you should get sound and graphic indications when a clickable appears!
please do not include AI "art" in the fan art section.

I've been playing ren'py VNs for a good long while now ever since I picked up my first one I think nearly a decade ago now. I love how each and every one of them have a unique setting, lore, and diverse cast of NPCs you can sleep with.
Yours has all of this and more in spades! I was addicted to the plot and figuring out the right choices to make these girls happy. I enjoy Anya a lot and Jane is an absolute stone cold fox. I hope to see more of this game in the future! Take your time developing it and crafting the story to be as fun and as entertaining as you want it to be!

Other people here have mentioned Eternum which is one of my favorite AVNs out there; I personally don't like to "rank" works like these against each other, as if there needs to be a pecking order, but I will say the enjoyment and intrigue I got from reading through Between Humanity is the same greatness I got from it. The biggest flaw for both is there isn't more to read yet! 😁

My initial plans were to end it with Chapter 10, but this isn't fix anymore. So I have no number in mind currently, but when I feel like it will reach it's natural end, I'll end it.
