Development 0.4 - #29
Hello everyone!
I'm still working on literally the last animation for the update, but I expect it to be done by tomorrow, so let's assume this dev log is from tomorrow - the future - so 100% rendering done, wohoo!
After that, I'm actually rendering the renders. I'm unsure how familiar you are with my workflow, but I currently have all renders in dedicated save files and still need to render them. One save file for each scene part, e.g. scene 3 has parts a, b, c, d and e and I basically set everything up for each scene and, in the end, I load a save file and just render each shot.
But this workflow allows me to make small adjustments at the end - since I tend to learn a lot when I work through an update - and this helps me add the small improvements I've learned or made over the duration of the rendering process to all my scenes.
I can't magically update everything, though, since that would take too much time and is often not necessary. But I have small todo.txt files next to those scene save files with adjustments written inside them! :D
After I'm done with rendering everything, I'll fix the programming side and prepare an alpha release candidate. While this one is being tested and proofread, I will work on sound effects and music while also working on the Ren'Py code part of the game, adding transitions and all the code-related things that are necessary for everything to transition smoothly, as well as potential phone-related dialogue scenes, etc.
I also haven't forgotten about the monthly render! I'm just so focused on getting this rendering part done that I have neglected the monthly render a bit, but don't worry, I'll deliver as usual, just a bit later!
Small side note: I've updated my itch.io game profile with missing entries and other things that might have prevented it from getting indexed again. So this should be solved in 1-2 weeks as well if everything works out!
Currently, I'm aiming for a patron release in September and a public release in October!
That's it for this development log! Have a great remaining week and stay awesome!
Love you all <3

Every night I get some rest, hehe. Thank you and have a great weekend!
Well done. I hope this update is good to bleach my soul after the disaster that was being a dik ep 12
Thank you, I hope that you'll enjoy it!
Cool to hear about the workflow. I've been wanting to try my hand at making a VN so this might be some solid advice.
Looking forward to the update
You're welcome and thank you! :) So far nobody of my dev colleagues does it this way, at least those I'm aware off. They immediately render the shots. :D
