I got a solution from a fellow dev: You need to navigate to 'Android/data/com.dbpanda.betweenhumanity/files/game/tl' create "/game/tl" if they're not exist and place the chinese translation folder (extracted from the .zip) inside it. It will show you the option to switch to chinese in the in-game menu! :)
Yes, currently the lewd scenes are more like quick encounters which I tried to implement somewhat naturally over the duration of the game. Some characters are more prone to being straight forward while others are going to get what they want through teasing, while some of them again are totally different and have a somewhat "normal" relationship progression. Like a little bit of everything for everyone. Having Lucy teasing the player wouldn't fit and teasing isn't a big part of any character, just specific ones. You'll have to "earn" some lewd scenes for sure, but there is also the question what earning means. If you play the story normally without having to take any difficult choices on the way, is it still earned when you get the girl you wanted from the beginning? I do have plans for every character and you'll see them approaching the player or the other way around, in different ways! Nothing is written in stone yet, but those are my guidelines at least. :)
I can definitely make a list with the songs at some point. They're taken from everywhere basically, online no-copyright sounds over attribution sounds which you can find in the credits up to paid ones from different sites.

The addition of Venus as a main girl sucks, should have ended as one night stand but from the looks of it there is going to be a emotional blah blah about how she ended as a prostitute, Amber as a slut member of harem was already enough ( I fcking hate that too ) though it's good that there is an option to reject Venus for now I hope it remains and I don't have to follow her story to complete the game. Don't want anything to do with her or any other character like her.
Also it's funny that these slut members usually fck everyone but takes one step at a time with MC lol

You can choose which girls you want to befriend, so if you aren't interested in Venus, that's totally fine and you can do so. :D You can also not do any Amber content if you dislike her, that's totally up to you. Also, it's interesting that you think they'd fuck everyone. I hope despite those two issues, you enjoyed playing the game :)

Summary: This game has superb visual effects, has a lot of potential, but currently leaves me with a lot of confusion.
Positive Feedback: I love how much intricate work you put into world building (like the news, advanced technologies of which I won't mention to avoid spoilers), renders and character models, animations. It definitely felt immersive at first. Everything is visually clean and pleasant.
Constructive Criticism: What confused me was the story and the background music choice. The title of this game is called "Between Humanity", but the major plot is centered on the MC's spiritual experience so far (no spoilers for those who didn't play). My question is: how does that relate to the title/theme of this game? So far in the two chapters we have, the most stuff I observed was MC's ordinary daily life and ...... his lewd scenes. To put it it frankly, I didn't understand what the main plot was, nor I saw huge story progress was made at the end of Chapter 2. I guess I am on the spectrum of people thinking "the game is a bit low paced", but with a different reason.
Some may argue that, this is a AVN, the priority shouldn't be just stories, so it is perfectly fine to focus on the lewd scenes. But the popular AVNs like Eternum, MBML, etc..., present H-scenes as a natural outcome of the main story's progression, not based on...... random and less attractive "daily" events. But I also need to acknoledge that different people have different preferences. I'm just being honest about my subjective opinion.
In addition, the immersive choice of piano-based background music makes the game experience less enjoyable. I enjoy listening to piano, but the scenes at home where MC interacts with other girls have similar melodies, rhythms, and... emotional implications. Some stories just... don't feel right vibe when overflown with these piano instrumentals. For those who want to argue the toss, I am not saying I dislike pianos. Quite the opposite, I am suggesting diversify the music choice to make the story more immersive.

When the game grows bigger, I tend to overlook certain things, and it's nice when people point them out.
I'm having a really difficult time finding the right music tracks since, in general, I'm not a very musical person. The piano music is something I find mostly relaxing and not distracting, which is why I went with it. Maybe I can ask my beta-testers what they'd suggest for music, as it's difficult for me to handle alone.
About the title, don't get too attached to it for now. Like Caribdis wrote in OIAL: "You see this title only once and that's it." When the game is finished, you might see it as more fitting, but for now, it is what it is.
A slow pace is something I actually enjoy (if it's not filled with grind and useless scenes). I want to build relationships with the characters. I want some sex scenes to be rather quick or "random," while others will be more connected to the story and after certain events.
As you mentioned, it's currently the MC's daily life, so it's a mix of slice of life and story. I wanted to implement some H-scenes early on, so I went with the dream and random approach, also the girls should have different pacing, Amber is more like the experienced girl who wants to enjoy some quality time with MC while Lucy will be your little cute girlfriend at some point. Also speaking of MBML, there are also some quick and random sex scenes (e.g., Gwen).
I hope my rough explanations help bring some clarity to the situation and my overall thoughts :)!
Just finished up what you've got so far, and FUCK! The writing you've done for the story is amazing, honestly I would've enjoyed this game even without the adult aspect, absolutely loved the story. And honestly forget the comment about the MC not being attractive enough, I think most AVN authors try too hard to make the MC ridiculously attractive and I think it is better with the average look. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see where the story goes.
I get that, yeah, I and I really enjoyed that for the game, making a main character overly attractive kinda throws away the feeling of some other aspect causing his ability to make even Naomi unable to resist, which made my brain work overtime and really wonder what the cocktail he was injected with did to change him, and I absolutely loved having a vn make me think so deep about something.
He looks like someone haphazardly mashed stereotypical American and Asian attributes and hoped for the best. I understand though since you don't see him much it doesn't particularly matter but every other male character looks better than him.
Ngl, that's exactly what it is :D. The default HS Asian character spiked with American features. If you can name specific details about his face, I'll take a look at them otherwise I'll keep him as is.
The overall story will be the the same, just the relationship content with Amber and Alice will be different but will have the same outcome. So don't worry about it.
Quite an interesting game! Chapter 1 hooked me, and while 2 was also very good, it left me worried in a sense. My favorite part of chapter 1 is how you can act like an absolute menace towards Jane on the very conversation you have with her, so truly, I do not want to have a scene where MC is alone with her, and isn't given the option to plant more insidious seeds on her mind. She went into his room? I want him acting like a bastard. She's doing yoga? Bastard. Driving MC somewhere? Bastard, bastard, bastard! I want each Jane scene to end with her feeling more insecure on if he's right about her.
Glad you liked it :D! The shower scene is mostly for the player to enter Jane's dominant route. That said, I'll try to make the transition to the route in a certain believable way (regarding story elements as well), but it's not finalized yet. Might be possible that he's acting in a certain way to get her to feel insecure about her own desires, future will tell.
I got the sense - due to the apology scene mainly - that he's acting polite to lull her into thinking he's actually a good guy/repentant, right? Imo that is fine, to have the MC outwardly acting and saying "vanilla" things, but, just as the apology scene goes, his internal thoughts should still be wicked. If him berating Jane to her face on each scene wouldn't be believable, and you want MC to act normal for a time with her, imo he should still totally berate her on his mind every time he sees her haha.
I can't make him to different just for Jane and have him be normal for all the other characters. But in the later stages of the game I'll bring more light into this mystery. :) and it should make more sense overall.
This game has the potential to be one of the best stories in this genre. Eternum was my clear favorite before I played this, but holy shit, Between Humanity is a very close 2nd, now! I have a feeling this one will be up there in terms of popularity if the story stays as gripping as it is!
I must admit, i really love this game... although its too early but man i really love the render, animations, and the characters. Keep Going man this game has potential i swear... I cant wait for the next update!! ;)

Some neglectable rewrites were done, nothing major. You can continue from your save game at the end of 0.2. There is also an optional short recap of Chapter 1. :)
I've played till the end of Chapter 2 and I like the game so far. Story is good as is character development. You also seem to have a good sense for pacing in your story so far.
Most of the characters are likeable (I'm actually a huge fan of Jade. I can't wait to learn more of her story.) and some well I didn't get enough interaction with them to decide if I like them or not.
Over all I have enjoyed the game and am looking forward to what comes next. Keep up the good work!
Well some people(which are unfortunately more vocal about what they want) just want to rush into the H scenes and don't want story. You need to take things like that into account. Maybe saying in the description that your game is story focused will help keep people like that from playing your game in the first place and then you can get more relevant reviews from those your style appeals to. I personally like games with a good story where I feel I get to know the characters so your story telling style is enjoyable for me. Just keep doing what your doing. It works in my opinion.
Sorry, I'm a little late to the party lol. I actually updated the first sentence to this "Between Humanity is a story driven AVN which..." 10 days ago! :) Thank you for the nice words, I also like to get to know the characters and their flaws and maybe have some funny accidents on the way as well but that only helps to build a believable relationship imo.
I plan to have around 10 chapters in total, though it might be more depending on how things progress. Since I'm working on this in my spare time, I don't have exact release dates for each chapter, let alone for the entire game. It will probably take a few years to complete.
For comparison, take Eternum as an example: its first version (0.1) was released in September 2021. Cari has likely been working on it full-time since then, and now, three years later, it's at version 0.7. So you can imagine how long it will take when you're only able to work on it in your spare time.

This one definitely has good bones. Not too many characters or elements too soon. Excellent graphic quality. Good amount of choices, and no jarring grammatical errors that take one out of it.

Don't worry, I don't take constructive criticism as an offense. When the game grows bigger, I tend to overlook certain things, and it's nice when people point them out.
I'm having a really difficult time finding the right music tracks since, in general, I'm not a very musical person. The piano music is something I find mostly relaxing and not distracting, which is why I went with it. Maybe I can ask my beta-testers what they'd suggest for music, as it's difficult for me to handle alone.
About the title, don't get too attached to it for now. Like Caribdis wrote in OIAL: "You see this title only once and that's it." When the game is finished, you might see it as more fitting, but for now, it is what it is.
A slow pace is something I actually enjoy (if it's not filled with grind and useless scenes). I want to build relationships with the characters. I want some sex scenes to be rather quick or "random," while others will be more connected to the story and after certain events.
As you mentioned, it's currently the MC's daily life, so it's a mix of slice of life and story. I wanted to implement some H-scenes early on, so I went with the dream and random approach, also the girls should have different pacing, Amber is more like the experienced girl who wants to enjoy some quality time with MC while Lucy will be your little cute girlfriend at some point. Also speaking of MBML, there are also some quick and random sex scenes (e.g., Gwen).
I hope my rough explanations help bring some clarity to the situation and my overall thoughts :)!

Just finished up what you've got so far, and FUCK! The writing you've done for the story is amazing, honestly I would've enjoyed this game even without the adult aspect, absolutely loved the story. And honestly forget the comment about the MC not being attractive enough, I think most AVN authors try too hard to make the MC ridiculously attractive and I think it is better with the average look. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see where the story goes.

I get that, yeah, I and I really enjoyed that for the game, making a main character overly attractive kinda throws away the feeling of some other aspect causing his ability to make even Naomi unable to resist, which made my brain work overtime and really wonder what the cocktail he was injected with did to change him, and I absolutely loved having a vn make me think so deep about something.

It's excellent but why is the MC so ugly I get physically repulsed every time I see his face.
It's not easy to get good looking males in hs, but I don't find him ugly tbh, what makes you think so?
He looks like someone haphazardly mashed stereotypical American and Asian attributes and hoped for the best. I understand though since you don't see him much it doesn't particularly matter but every other male character looks better than him.
Ngl, that's exactly what it is :D. The default HS Asian character spiked with American features.
If you can name specific details about his face, I'll take a look at them otherwise I'll keep him as is.
I think the worst parts are his eyes don't match his face well, he has horrible eyebrows, and he has the hairline of a prepubescent boy.

The overall story will be the the same, just the relationship content with Amber and Alice will be different but will have the same outcome. So don't worry about it.

Quite an interesting game! Chapter 1 hooked me, and while 2 was also very good, it left me worried in a sense. My favorite part of chapter 1 is how you can act like an absolute menace towards Jane on the very conversation you have with her, so truly, I do not want to have a scene where MC is alone with her, and isn't given the option to plant more insidious seeds on her mind. She went into his room? I want him acting like a bastard. She's doing yoga? Bastard. Driving MC somewhere? Bastard, bastard, bastard! I want each Jane scene to end with her feeling more insecure on if he's right about her.
Glad you liked it :D! The shower scene is mostly for the player to enter Jane's dominant route. That said, I'll try to make the transition to the route in a certain believable way (regarding story elements as well), but it's not finalized yet. Might be possible that he's acting in a certain way to get her to feel insecure about her own desires, future will tell.
I got the sense - due to the apology scene mainly - that he's acting polite to lull her into thinking he's actually a good guy/repentant, right? Imo that is fine, to have the MC outwardly acting and saying "vanilla" things, but, just as the apology scene goes, his internal thoughts should still be wicked. If him berating Jane to her face on each scene wouldn't be believable, and you want MC to act normal for a time with her, imo he should still totally berate her on his mind every time he sees her haha.
I can't make him to different just for Jane and have him be normal for all the other characters. But in the later stages of the game I'll bring more light into this mystery. :) and it should make more sense overall.
This game has the potential to be one of the best stories in this genre. Eternum was my clear favorite before I played this, but holy shit, Between Humanity is a very close 2nd, now! I have a feeling this one will be up there in terms of popularity if the story stays as gripping as it is!

Some neglectable rewrites were done, nothing major. You can continue from your save game at the end of 0.2.

I've played till the end of Chapter 2 and I like the game so far. Story is good as is character development. You also seem to have a good sense for pacing in your story so far.
Most of the characters are likeable (I'm actually a huge fan of Jade. I can't wait to learn more of her story.) and some well I didn't get enough interaction with them to decide if I like them or not.
Over all I have enjoyed the game and am looking forward to what comes next. Keep up the good work!

Well some people(which are unfortunately more vocal about what they want) just want to rush into the H scenes and don't want story. You need to take things like that into account. Maybe saying in the description that your game is story focused will help keep people like that from playing your game in the first place and then you can get more relevant reviews from those your style appeals to. I personally like games with a good story where I feel I get to know the characters so your story telling style is enjoyable for me. Just keep doing what your doing. It works in my opinion.

I plan to have around 10 chapters in total, though it might be more depending on how things progress.
Since I'm working on this in my spare time, I don't have exact release dates for each chapter, let alone for the entire game.
It will probably take a few years to complete.
For comparison, take Eternum as an example: its first version (0.1) was released in September 2021.
Cari has likely been working on it full-time since then, and now, three years later, it's at version 0.7.
So you can imagine how long it will take when you're only able to work on it in your spare time.
