The music of this game really punched up the tender moments and narative taking something that was already interesting and making it compelling. I hope I can find the soundtrack to this game somewhere because id like to spend a little more time in the headspace after finishing the most recent update.

really good game but something i find annoying that i wont be able to change is making a bad decision early that finishing and not being able to go back and change. i love the games with this type of art/ animation . shame that these types of games are so good that they feel like they finish quickly

That's for later stages. I'll work on this one for quite some time and in the end it will be a large story with enough content for a day probably! I think it's been one of the best games I've played here on itch.io. The plot is very interesting and leaves you with a sense of mystery and intrigue. And speaking of the characters, they're amazing. I love that each girl has such a unique and charming personality. I must also say that the quality of the game is very realistic and charming <3
The only question I have is that I've been playing for a long time, and for some reason, in Chapter 3, I can't get Lucy's affection level to 14/14. I've only gotten to 13/14 despite replaying the game several times. I don't know if it's a bug or if I'm not interacting with Lucy enough, but I've tried interacting only with Lucy and ignoring everyone else, so I'm at a loss for what to do.

I'm glad I discovered this game. It's one of the few places I can still go to, to forget about how controlling the world has become. That's one of the reasons why I like it so much. It's genuinely become a comfort game for me. As has Eternum and My Bully is My Lover, but not to the same degree as Between Humanity. And, if I had to choose one AVN to stick to forever, it'd be this game. I still love Eternum and MBiML, though!
If you're someone who hasn't yet downloaded this game, who's reading the comments to see whether or not it's worth playing, I could not recommend a game more. This kind of game is hard to find. This game is special, because it gets things like pacing and restraint a lot better than most AVNs.
What I mean by this, is that, with most AVNs, you get a brief introduction to the setting and the characters at the start of the game, and then you jump right into a super intense plot, with very little moments of rest. Beyond that, these same AVNs also don't typically wait too long to start giving you super intense, highly explicit lewd scenes. Going straight from 0 to 100 kinda stuff.
The problem with that, is that, there's no number higher than 100. So, if you jump straight to the top in chapter 1, going full out and showing everything, leaving nothing to the imagination, and giving the player the ultimate high, they've already seen everything there is to see. So, not only will they have a much weaker incentive to keep going with the story, but they will also feel a lot more bored later on, because they've already seen everything there is to see. Even Eternum and MBiML, though they are masterpieces, have this problem to some degree, though it's nowhere as bad as Ripples. I fucking hate Ripples. 🖕
Between Humanity doesn't have this problem, because it understands the art of pacing, and the value of restraint. This game is a VERY slow burn, and that's a good thing! Because, plot-wise, it builds interest. And porn-wise, it builds anticipation.
Because I'm taking people who haven't yet played this game into consideration here, I won't give any direct spoilers to what happens. However, just to give an idea of how much of a slow burn Between Humanity is, we are, by this point, in chapter 4 of the story, and things are only JUST getting started. Between Humanity is in chapter 4 where Eternum was in the second half of chapter 1, and MBiML was in Episode 2 of the Prologue.
And that's good! Because, it means that, when things to start getting more intense, it's going to feel much, much more rewarding! BECAUSE things are so slow-paced in this game, you are given MORE than enough time to really get to know the characters, the setting, and the story; and it makes it a lot more memorable, and, by this point, even nostalgic. Because you aren't thrown straight into it, so to speak. That's for the story, but it extends to the lewd aspects as well, for the same reasons.
Finally, the main character himself, Michael Collins, is a good dude. I'm not going to pretend that he has the same level of personality and writing that Orion Richards and Kei Hahn currently have, because he absolutely doesn't. But, that started to change in chapter 3. And, this game is still young, with a lot of time to add things to him! So, I don't mind Mike not having much to him right now. As for who he is as a person, though, like I said, he's a good dude. He's not a flawless angel, but he has good morals, and he's easy to root for! He's not a typical sleazy AVN protagonist, basically. You could also say he's nothing like Once in a Lifetime's protagonist. 💀
That's all for this review. There's a lot more I could talk about, like Simon and Lilith, but, I don't wanna be typing all day. 😅 Regardless, I hope this was informative, and I hope it helped with your decision on whether or not to play this game! Like I've said already, I highly recommend it. This game is incredible, and it means a lot to me. And, it deserves all the traction it can get!

I started typing this out to vent my frustrations about YouTube, but then I thought, "Hey, I'm already here, why not get that remastered review done finally?" And so, I did! I also don't like going from 0 to 100 in an instant, it needs to have at least a little build up or other reasons for it to happen, otherwise it's just not my cup of tea. But you'll see when you play future versions of the game ;)
Trying to balance slow pace and developing real character relationships is difficult and I'm by no means a professional, quite the opposite. I do make mistakes as well and I will probably make them in the future as well, but that's normal. I try to make it as interesting as possible while keeping a good pace.

Itch has 3 choices : free without tip, free with OPTIONAL tip and paid...
With the Collective Shout/Credit card issue, itch had to deindex all AVN then reindexed those who are only Free with no optional tip (as these don't allow any interaction with Paypal/Credit Card/...)
Until the whole issue is fully solved, the authors who want to be reindexed on itch have to switch to Free without the "tip" option... and use other services in order to be supported (Patreon for example).
You have other AVN who did the same (remove the optional tip to be reindexed).

I can't find a way to drop the mod file in the game files for some reason. When I try to use my phone's file manager the "android/data" folder doesn't show up and when I try using a file manager (like Zarchiver) I can't enter the "/com.dbpanda.betweenhumanity/" folder because it says something about app permission, even though I gave all the permissions to both applications. Does anyone know what I could do?
Hey there, I'm using cx file explorer, it requires permission to access the folder as well, but that usually worked out so far. Another user on discord said he connected his phone with a laptop/PC and managed to access the folder this way. Hope this helps!

I'm truly touched by 'Between Humanity'. This game almost brought me to tears with its emotional depth.
I wanted to try something different from the Play Store and stumbled upon 'Between Humanity' on itch.io after an unsatisfying experience with another game. From the moment I started playing, without even considering a review, I was completely absorbed and had no regrets. The compelling storyline and incredible characters kept me hooked, leading me to play for over 60 hours straight from July 2nd to 7th. It was beyond my expectations! So highly recommended.
I'm eagerly awaiting the next update! DebatingPanda, I'm lucky to play your game and therefore want to thank you from the depth of my heart for all your dedicated work. Please keep us updated on the game's progress and stay active with the community – I'm really looking forward to it.
My only minor feedback is that the only sexual encounter with Anya felt annoying, unfair, and lacking choices. And my most favourite character is Lucy, for whom I liked the game most and able to complete it satisfyingly.
While I can't offer financial support, I'd love to share some future ideas and feedback if you're open to hearing them. I'd also appreciate any game recommendations like BH from you while you work on 'Between Humanity'.
Like you I also really love the story and cast, with a really compelling pacing.
There's a lot of crap ones, but for ones comparable to this, Eternum, Cosy cafe, harem hotel, ripples, house in the rift.
All have extremely good writing, great casts, and everything going for them where the sex scenes are just character development for the well written story and not just pointless. Cosy and Eternum are probably the closest with similar settings and compelling narrative.

What additional choices would you like to have during the scene with Anya? Couldn't think of anything in particular when I created the scene. Unfair? Depends on what would you consider unfair, you can always decline her and therefore the scene entirely. It's just how she attempted to get MC to do certain things with her. If you don't like it, decline her and check what the future will bring to the table.

well so far i love the story how it was developed on this 3 chapters, almost a month eating this type of games, and this story surely got me the intro and the end almost cried for a second. i will checking on here for the next release <3

But yeah, playing it a 4 am might be a bit brave due to certain scenes. :D The options should be quite self explanatory and they're mostly good for determining if a player likes a certain LI or for example if the player likes pizza (meat vs vegetarian choice), any specific choices which you're referring to?
Lesbian "avoidable" hahah the fact that now kids see two girls in a threesome kissing as NTR is mind boggling to me, never seen anyone have an issue with that for decades. women making out during drinking games or parties in college is not anything to be insecure about. Very bizarre possessive hang up to have over fictional love interests, like wanting everyone to be virgins.
That aside, loving the game so far, definitely a lot of work put into the art and writing, looking forward to seeing how it plays out!

I need help! I spent two hours with bing ai, trying to find a way install 0.2 dev with chapter 4. What I wanted to was get this update and add it to my already existed game so I could continue. Trying to get let me a dozen or more glitches, dead ends 404s from Itchio and ect. Can you please give me the link for the next chapter. I would very much appreaciate it. What an amazing game. I geniuely love Lucy and her and Anya remind me of my two best friends I had years ago, who were beautiful and sweet twin girls like them too. Lucy is so sweet and cute! Anya is well Anya. She is spicy! I hope I can either start a relationship with Lucy soon or at least a fling with Anya then a sexual romance with Lucy. I find it somehow by accident and decided to play it as a joke. I was blown away by the story. I loved it. Very spicy game though!
Hey there! I wonder where you're getting this info from? There is no Chapter 4 in version 0.2, since 0.2 contains only Chapter 2 :D like 0.3 contains Chapter 3 and so forth. There is currently no 0.4, hence no Chapter 4. Current release is 0.3.3 which is Chapter 3 with bugfixes. I'm working on it, but it'll still take some time! One of your patreon posts must have been messed up. I found one saying chapter 4 had been released from May to June with different access. This explains all the dead ends, but the computer had gone through and said 0.2 contained chapter 4 from several sources which I then checked. I was confused as it was saying chapter 4 had been released last year in a dev version, which didn't add up or make sense. I though the best thing was to ask you. Good know I know. When do you think you will release the next chapter and how many do you have planned. If cant answer those last to questions if its a secret, then that's fine too.
PS. One of the pictures shows one of the twins deepthroating you. That never happened. is that a possibility that could have happened because Anya's scene didn't go that way.
Can you tell me which one exactly so I can fix it? :D There is no such things as dev version though, I only have early access and normal versions. Make sure you don't download those fake "new version here" stuff. Those fake versions will run Javascript code on your PC which steals all your browser passwords/discord tokens/steam login/etc if you simply start the .exe file, so please be careful and only download from trusted sources.
I don't know how many I have planned and since I'm working on this in my spare time, I can't give exact release dates. Sometimes I'm too exhausted after my normal work and other times I just have to do normal things which prevent me from working. It'll probably be less than 8 month since last release, which was in April, so expect it roughly in the last quarter of this year.
You can download the walkthrough mod or PDF directly from itch and follow the "ideal" path. You probably have just missed that scene then.
Apparently i bought this a year ago in a bundle. Just got around to trying it out, definitely one I'll be keeping an eye on in the future. It seems you're pretty active in development and that's a fantastic thing to see, keep up the good work

Beyond that, these same AVNs also don't typically wait too long to start giving you super intense, highly explicit lewd scenes. Going straight from 0 to 100 kinda stuff.
The problem with that, is that, there's no number higher than 100. So, if you jump straight to the top in chapter 1, going full out and showing everything, leaving nothing to the imagination, and giving the player the ultimate high, they've already seen everything there is to see. So, not only will they have a much weaker incentive to keep going with the story, but they will also feel a lot more bored later on, because they've already seen everything there is to see. Even Eternum and MBiML, though they are masterpieces, have this problem to some degree, though it's nowhere as bad as Ripples. I fucking hate Ripples. 🖕
Between Humanity doesn't have this problem, because it understands the art of pacing, and the value of restraint. This game is a VERY slow burn, and that's a good thing! Because, plot-wise, it builds interest. And porn-wise, it builds anticipation.
Because I'm taking people who haven't yet played this game into consideration here, I won't give any direct spoilers to what happens. However, just to give an idea of how much of a slow burn Between Humanity is, we are, by this point, in chapter 4 of the story, and things are only JUST getting started. Between Humanity is in chapter 4 where Eternum was in the second half of chapter 1, and MBiML was in Episode 2 of the Prologue.
And that's good! Because, it means that, when things to start getting more intense, it's going to feel much, much more rewarding! BECAUSE things are so slow-paced in this game, you are given MORE than enough time to really get to know the characters, the setting, and the story; and it makes it a lot more memorable, and, by this point, even nostalgic. Because you aren't thrown straight into it, so to speak. That's for the story, but it extends to the lewd aspects as well, for the same reasons.
Finally, the main character himself, Michael Collins, is a good dude. I'm not going to pretend that he has the same level of personality and writing that Orion Richards and Kei Hahn currently have, because he absolutely doesn't. But, that started to change in chapter 3. And, this game is still young, with a lot of time to add things to him! So, I don't mind Mike not having much to him right now. As for who he is as a person, though, like I said, he's a good dude. He's not a flawless angel, but he has good morals, and he's easy to root for! He's not a typical sleazy AVN protagonist, basically. You could also say he's nothing like Once in a Lifetime's protagonist. 💀
That's all for this review. There's a lot more I could talk about, like Simon and Lilith, but, I don't wanna be typing all day. 😅 Regardless, I hope this was informative, and I hope it helped with your decision on whether or not to play this game! Like I've said already, I highly recommend it. This game is incredible, and it means a lot to me. And, it deserves all the traction it can get!

Trying to balance slow pace and developing real character relationships is difficult and I'm by no means a professional, quite the opposite. I do make mistakes as well and I will probably make them in the future as well, but that's normal. I try to make it as interesting as possible while keeping a good pace.

I can't find a way to drop the mod file in the game files for some reason. When I try to use my phone's file manager the "android/data" folder doesn't show up and when I try using a file manager (like Zarchiver) I can't enter the "/com.dbpanda.betweenhumanity/" folder because it says something about app permission, even though I gave all the permissions to both applications. Does anyone know what I could do?
Hey there, I'm using cx file explorer, it requires permission to access the folder as well, but that usually worked out so far. Another user on discord said he connected his phone with a laptop/PC and managed to access the folder this way. Hope this helps!

I wanted to try something different from the Play Store and stumbled upon 'Between Humanity' on itch.io after an unsatisfying experience with another game. From the moment I started playing, without even considering a review, I was completely absorbed and had no regrets. The compelling storyline and incredible characters kept me hooked, leading me to play for over 60 hours straight from July 2nd to 7th. It was beyond my expectations! So highly recommended.
I'm eagerly awaiting the next update! DebatingPanda, I'm lucky to play your game and therefore want to thank you from the depth of my heart for all your dedicated work. Please keep us updated on the game's progress and stay active with the community – I'm really looking forward to it.
My only minor feedback is that the only sexual encounter with Anya felt annoying, unfair, and lacking choices. And my most favourite character is Lucy, for whom I liked the game most and able to complete it satisfyingly.

Like you I also really love the story and cast, with a really compelling pacing.
There's a lot of crap ones, but for ones comparable to this, Eternum, Cosy cafe, harem hotel, ripples, house in the rift.
All have extremely good writing, great casts, and everything going for them where the sex scenes are just character development for the well written story and not just pointless. Cosy and Eternum are probably the closest with similar settings and compelling narrative.

What additional choices would you like to have during the scene with Anya? Couldn't think of anything in particular when I created the scene. Unfair? Depends on what would you consider unfair, you can always decline her and therefore the scene entirely. It's just how she attempted to get MC to do certain things with her. If you don't like it, decline her and check what the future will bring to the table.

But yeah, playing it a 4 am might be a bit brave due to certain scenes. :D The options should be quite self explanatory and they're mostly good for determining if a player likes a certain LI or for example if the player likes pizza (meat vs vegetarian choice), any specific choices which you're referring to?
Lesbian "avoidable" hahah the fact that now kids see two girls in a threesome kissing as NTR is mind boggling to me, never seen anyone have an issue with that for decades. women making out during drinking games or parties in college is not anything to be insecure about. Very bizarre possessive hang up to have over fictional love interests, like wanting everyone to be virgins.
That aside, loving the game so far, definitely a lot of work put into the art and writing, looking forward to seeing how it plays out!

What an amazing game. I geniuely love Lucy and her and Anya remind me of my two best friends I had years ago, who were beautiful and sweet twin girls like them too. Lucy is so sweet and cute! Anya is well Anya. She is spicy! I hope I can either start a relationship with Lucy soon or at least a fling with Anya then a sexual romance with Lucy. I find it somehow by accident and decided to play it as a joke. I was blown away by the story. I loved it. Very spicy game though!

Hey there! I wonder where you're getting this info from? There is no Chapter 4 in version 0.2, since 0.2 contains only Chapter 2 :D like 0.3 contains Chapter 3 and so forth. There is currently no 0.4, hence no Chapter 4. Current release is 0.3.3 which is Chapter 3 with bugfixes. I'm working on it, but it'll still take some time! One of your patreon posts must have been messed up. I found one saying chapter 4 had been released from May to June with different access. This explains all the dead ends, but the computer had gone through and said 0.2 contained chapter 4 from several sources which I then checked. I was confused as it was saying chapter 4 had been released last year in a dev version, which didn't add up or make sense. I though the best thing was to ask you. Good know I know. When do you think you will release the next chapter and how many do you have planned. If cant answer those last to questions if its a secret, then that's fine too.
PS. One of the pictures shows one of the twins deepthroating you. That never happened. is that a possibility that could have happened because Anya's scene didn't go that way.
Can you tell me which one exactly so I can fix it? :D There is no such things as dev version though, I only have early access and normal versions. Make sure you don't download those fake "new version here" stuff. Those fake versions will run Javascript code on your PC which steals all your browser passwords/discord tokens/steam login/etc if you simply start the .exe file, so please be careful and only download from trusted sources.
I don't know how many I have planned and since I'm working on this in my spare time, I can't give exact release dates. Sometimes I'm too exhausted after my normal work and other times I just have to do normal things which prevent me from working. It'll probably be less than 8 month since last release, which was in April, so expect it roughly in the last quarter of this year.
You can download the walkthrough mod or PDF directly from itch and follow the "ideal" path. You probably have just missed that scene then.
